Cardiff approaches and nearby corridors
Our road pages cover the M4 and A48(M), the A48 across the Cardiff area, A4232, A470 and A4055, plus the A4161, A4119, A469 and A468 corridors. Each enquiry is assessed by its actual location. These pages help describe the collection point; availability still needs to be checked for the vehicle and road conditions.
Information that helps locate you
State whether you are on the main road, entry or exit slip, a service area or a nearby car park. Add a map location or driver location sign details if you can obtain them safely. Tell us about passengers, wheel damage and the intended garage or destination so loading and onward arrangements can be considered together.
Get safe before sending details
Use official breakdown guidance and follow police or traffic-officer instructions. Call 999 first if there is immediate danger. You should not remain exposed to traffic to complete an enquiry. Traffic Wales and the relevant council publish live road information; a quote response does not itself mean a recovery vehicle has been dispatched.
Your questions, answered.
Which direction should I give?
Use the direction of travel shown for the road, such as M4 eastbound or westbound. If unsure, share your map position and the last junction passed from a safe place.
Is a nearest postcode enough on a motorway?
A nearby postcode can put a driver on a parallel road. Give the motorway, direction, junction or location-sign details and your map position when possible.
